The vital records registered at the Embassy, are regularly sent by diplomatic pouch to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, which in its turn transmits it to the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, in order to register it in the Lebanese civil registers. To establish paternity act of a minor child born out of marriage, a child's recognition session is held at the Embassy with the parents and two witnesses. This should take place before the majority of the child.
The required documents for an Illegitimate Birth registration :
* Download and fill out a Birth Application Form.
* The original Birth Certificate, legalized by the State Chancellery, with a copie of it.
* Two copies of a recent Family Extracts of Civil Status (not older than one year).
* Passport or identity card of both parents.
* Passport or identity card of both witnesses.
* Paternity act of a minor child prepared in the Embassy and signed by the parents and the witnesses.
Consulaires fees : No fees are required for illegitimate birth registation.
